[Umaki Small Taiko Drums Visit MORIKUNI Again This Year] On October 12th and 13th, the Makino small taiko drums made their annual stop at MORIKUNI. On the 15th, during the Utsumi Hachiman Shrine Grand Festival, the “large taiko,” “small taiko,” and “nobori-sashi” are dedicated in a vibrant display of tradition. One of the highlights is the breathtaking “nobori-sashi” performance, where an approximately 8-meter-long banner attached to a thick bamboo pole is lifted with one hand and balanced on the forehead or shoulder.
